Morganite (Moh's scale 7.5) is a member of the beryl family of minerals and related to such well-known gemstones as Aquamarine and Emerald. The wonderful light pink color is attributed to the presence of manganese. It is also available in rose, peach and violet varieties. Morganite is an uncommon gemstone for any type of jewelry. Most Morganite is heat treated in order to enhance the color. |
